Walt Disney World's New Enchanted Rose Bar Looks Nothing Like Beauty & The Beast

“If it’s not Baroque, don’t fix it!”

There has been quite a lot of hype surrounding the new Beauty and the Beast bar and lounge opening at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. All of Disney’s parks have been getting major facelifts lately, with tons of added character attractions in Epcot’s World Showcase in particular.

Mary Poppins and even Remi from Ratatouille will soon be making an appearance, so it was exciting news for fans of Belle when the themed restaurant was announced.

But before you run off to buy a yellow gown and taking waltz lessons, we have some news for you: the restaurant does not much resemble Beauty and the Beast.

Moreso, it appears that the lounge was inspired by the film; you can spot a few direct draws of inspiration, like the emblem at the entrance that has a stained glass rose in full bloom by the name of the restaurant. Above the bar hangs a blooming chandelier, an echo of Belle’s golden gown.

Above a candlelit fireplace, you’ll find another rose encased in glass and a clock that’s reminiscent of Cogsworth.

And then there’s…yeah, that’s about it.

However, that didn’t deter guests from exploring the new spot on their opening day last week.

The overall décor and furniture are floral and French. The menu offers French-inspired food, with items like artisanal cheese, crab and gnocchetti Gratin, and flatbread pizza.

We have to admit, even though it lacks a little singing teacup here and there, it's an absolutely gorgeous addition to the park.
