Attention everyone, summer is done in a few months so you can NOT let these months pass you by! With summer in the air it's time to get outside and soak up as much sun as we can before fall rolls around. This is not the time to be stuck inside doing nothing, cause once the cooler weather comes back you'll instantly regret it.
July, August, and September are the final three months for you to enjoy the warm weather. You don't need to worry about your jacket or boots, it's the best time to be spontaneous and just get outside. Whether you're someone super outdoorsy or someone that prefers to chill on a patio all day, you will find something fun you can do in these next three months.
Hit up the Wonders of Sand Festival in Gatineau
July 6th to 8th
Wonders of Sand is in Gatineau and it will have a floating waterpark that you have to check out! The festival is only a 20 minute drive out of Ottawa. The floating waterpark is developed by Okanagan Wibit and they're perfect for a summer day! The festival brings together over 15,000 people annually to compete in the most epic sandcastle making competition you will ever see. The sand and water festival is completely free, so if you decide to go, you don't need to break your bank account!
Dance your night away at RBC Bluesfest
July 5th to 15th
Summer is incomplete without at least one music festival. RBC Bluesfest happens every summer in Ottawa and it's a great way to take in the weather while enjoying live music. Last year the festival had a ferris wheel that made for some perfect festival pictures. This year some artists coming include Shawn Mendes, Beck, Bryan Adams, Passenger, and Foo Fighters.
Attend North America’s largest one-day outdoor beach volleyball tournament
Summertime is all about beach fun. This outdoor tournament happens each year and it's a great way to spend your day under the summer sun. There are more than 25,000 players and viewers that come to this huge tournament. HOPE is a volunteer, not-for-profit, event management organization that raises funds for community-based charities and has fun while doing it!
Travel back in time at The Kingdom of Osgoode Medieval Festival
July 14th to 15th
If you've always been interested in the medieval times, love action movies, or simply want to experience something unique, then you have to check out this festival. From sword fighting to falconry, you will feel like you're on the set of a movie. This will be the festivals final year, so be sure to check it out before it's too late.
Attend the 28th Annual Ottawa Lebanese Festival
July 18th to 22nd
From rides to live music to dancing to food, you are in for a treat when you head to Ottawa Lebanese Festival. There will be a lot of traditional Middle Eastern food freshly made on-site of the festival. You will experience so much over the course of the five days, whether you like to dance or eat, this festival has something for everyone!
Laugh your night away at The Kevin Hart Irresponsible Tour
If you love comedy shows then you have to go see Kevin Hart live. Tickets start as low as $35 making it a great outing for date night. From staring in so many movies to creating his own digital platform, Kevin Hart continues to elevate the comedy world, it's time to see him perform live this summer at the Canadian Tire Centre.
Learn about another culture at Capital Ukrainian Festival
July 20th to 22nd
You're in for a fun filled day at Capital Ukrainian Festival. At the festival there will be singing, dancing, and live music. There will also be a Ukrainian food village and beer garden! This is a great opportunity to learn about another culture while having fun. There will be cultural workshops and demonstrations, a marketplace, as well as children's activities.
Induldge in Asian cuisine at the Ottawa Asian Night Market
July 27th to 29th
Ottawa Asian Night Market will be returning to Chinatown once again! The night market is completely free to enter so you won't need to break your bank account to get in. They are hoping to make this Night Market the biggest one in Chinatown has ever had so you seriously don't want to miss it. The market is located at Ottawa's beautiful Chinatown Royal Gateway on Somerset and Bronson. There will be cultural performances, savoury scents and mouthwatering dishes by chefs from across Ottawa and Toronto.
Have an absolute blast at the 5K Foam Fest
You're in for a true summer day as you get wet with foam while running or walking this fun 5K! The 5K Foam Fest is a one of kind Obstacle Course based fun run. There are over 22 obstacles including the world's largest inflatable waterslide, mud pits and 2.5 million cubic feet of foam! With a variety obstacles and a ton of foam the run is an exciting challenge for both experienced and beginner runners.

August 2nd to 6th
This event is completely free and is sure to leave you in shock. Ottawa International Buskerfest is taking over Sparks Street for the 27th year for an exciting 4 days! World class performers from all over the world will amaze downtown Ottawa with award-winning shows perfected after many years of training. Prepare to be in awe of fire-breathers, contortionists, acrobats and more.
Hit up Ottawa's biggest Capital Ribfest
August 2nd to 5th
If you're a food lover, then you need to add this festival to your summer plans. Capital Ribfest happens at Ottawa's City Hall and it's epic. The amount of rib vendors at the event will have you completely spoilt for choice! Admission is completely free but be sure to bring some money for the food.
Watch the spectacular Casino Du Lac Leamy Sound of Light Fireworks
August 4th to 18th
The Casino Du Lac Leamy Sound of Light Firework show happens every summer at the Canadian Museum of History. The shows are absolutely incredible and 100% worth seeing from the museum, but if you're trying to save up your money, then stay downtown and you can watch the fireworks from any spot with an open view. The firework displays are synchronized to music, making the experience even better when you're at the museum.
Unleash your inner child at the Navan Fair
August 9th to 12th
From the ferris wheel to cotton candy you will definitely feel like a kid again at this fun fair. Whether you like chill rides like the Ferris Wheel or rides that will give you an adrenaline rush, there's something for everyone at the Navan Fair. The fair usually has dog shows, concerts, horse shows, and of course, a ton of rides.
Dance your night away while at Ottawa Greek Fest
August 9th to 19th
Whether you go for the traditional music or the delicious foods or the great dancing, Greek Fest is sure to have you feeling welcome. When you go, you have to try the traditional Greek dessert called loukoumades, seriously, that's my personal favourite thing about the festival! They are delicious donut-like desserts covered in yummy honey. From the foods to the music, you are in for a great day.

August 17th to 26th
If you're searching for a huge fair to go to in Ottawa, look no further. The Capital Fair has a ton of activities you can do while you're there. Some things at the fair include monster trucks, live music, dog shows, bird shows, horse racing, and a petting zoo.

Get your zen on at Yoga On The Hill

This is going on all summer, but is finished at the end of August. Before summer ends you need to try out this unreal experience. The free classes take place every Wednesday at 12 pm. All you need to bring is your yoga mat and yourself! This is a relaxing way to take in Ottawa's beauty and embrace the rays of summer sunshine.
Make your way to Canada's Largest Hot Air Balloon Festival
August 30th to September 3rd
This is a perfect way to embrace the warm weather before it turns into fall. At the festival you will watch dozens of hot air balloons float away into the beautiful afternoon sky. At Gatineau's Hot Air Balloon Festival you will see hundreds of hot air balloons float around the sky. Whether you watch the hot air balloons from the fair below, or get yourself an aerial view of Ottawa you will have a great time.

Every summer Parliament Hill showcases their Northern Lights Sound and Light show for free. This summer activity is a great way to end your night after spending your day downtown. From July 9th to September 3rd the Sound and Light show will happen every night on the Hill. In September the show will be at 9 pm.
Admire the new sculptures at Mosaïculture Gatineau

If you missed the event last summer, don't worry, this summer you can see the amazing Mosaïculture sculptures all over again. After last years success, the Mosaïculture sculptures will be back with stunning new designs. The sculptures will be at Parc Jacques-Cartier until October 15th so you have all summer to see them. This year the event is not free, so be sure to visit their website about ticket information.
Vibe out to some great music at City Folk Festival

There really is nothing like going to a music festival with your closest friends and dancing the night away. Last year City Folk Festival welcomed musical talents including Post Malone and Ruth B! This year some performers include Hozier, The Decemberists, David Byrne, and Janis Ian.
Go on some fun rides at Carp Fair
September 20th to 23rd
This will be your final chance to have fun at a summer fair! From the carousel to the ferris wheel, you will be in a fair wonderland. The fair will have great music, great shows, and a huge midway.
Hit up Beau’s Oktoberfest
September 21st to 22nd
Calling all beer lovers, this one's for you! From live music, to food, to beer you are in for a treat while at Oktoberfest. There will be tons of Bavarian-inspired foods provided by some of the best restaurants in Ottawa. There will also be a ferris wheel perfect for a fun ride!

Every year the University of Ottawa competes against Carleton University at TD Place Stadium. This is a great way to have a fun time out with your friends.
