No, Jimmy the Greek is not on this list. Sorry.

Ottawa is definitely a multicultural city when it comes to food, and although there are only a few, we know what we're doing when it comes to delicious Greek food. Greek food doesn't only consist of Gyros and Greek salad, but if you find authentic restaurants, you'll want to try everything on the menu.

I'm not sure if you can break plates at any of these restaurants, but either way you'll definitely feel like you're in the Mediterranean. So here are 8 best Ottawa Greek restaurants that you must try:

Pinelopi's Greek Kitchen // 4100 Strandherd Drive

For any Greek food lover, I would suggest coming here. The atmosphere is is amazing and the food is completely authentic. You'll find every option you could think of here, and done to perfection. However, make sure you make a reservation. This place gets packed!

EVOO Greek Kitchen // 438 Preston Street

EVOO Greek Kitchen is an adorable Greek restaurant that has amazing decor. The restaurant doesn't scream Greek, however, their food does. They serve breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner and all of their options are to die for. For breakfast/brunch, I'd totally recommend the breakfast gyro or the octopus Benedict. C'mon, don't those both sound interesting?!

Cozmos Souvlaki // 196 Greenbank Road

Cozmos Souvlaki is one of my favourite places to eat ever. It's so cheap, but the food is unreal. You can either dine in in their quaint little restaurant, or you can take it to go. Whatever you get there, I promise you won't be disappointed. Even though this is more of a 'fast food' type of Greek restaurant, that doesn't stop it from being absolutely delicious.

Aroma Meze // 239 Nepean Street

Aroma Meze prides themselves off of serving small, but delicious Greek dishes. All of the dishes are super affordable and great for sharing with your BFFs or SO. If you're looking for a unique option, I would recommend the Greek Poutine, which consists of: hand cut fries, feta & St Albert cheese curds, roasted lamb, lamb gravy. Yum!

The Greek Souvlaki Shack // 258 Bank Street

The Greek Souvlaki Shack is a small but delicious restaurant in Centretown. This is a great place to go if you're dieting or trying to eat healthier, as they have a low carb section on their menu. This hole in the wall restaurant is so underrated, and will make you want to come here everyday for lunch.

Pilos Restaurant // 876 Montreal Road

Pilos Restaurant is a family-run restaurant, so you know that the food is made with love and care. They've made there mark in Ottawa for 25 years and of course, for good reasons. Although their dishes are a little more expensive, it's so worth it. If you're looking for a cheaper option, they do have lunch specials that are on from 11 am - 1:30 pm everyday. Their menu is straight to the point and absolutely delicious.

Nutty Greek Bake Shop // 490 Rochester Street

The Nutty Greek Bake Shop makes sure that all of their ingredients are fresh and natural so their customers get quality meals. They offer food items such as pitas, salads, savoury or sweet pastries, and delicious cupcakes or cakes. Although this technically isn't a restaurant, they still serve authentic Greek foods that definitely need to be checked out!

Casa Grecque // 200 Rue Principale

Casa Grecque is a great restaurant located in Gatineau that lets you bring your own wine or beer. Should I say more? If the person that your with isn't a fan of Greek food (if that's even possible), then they'll love that Casa Grecque has an Italian food portion to their menu as well! You can mix and match items if you're not feeling like only Greek food that day, and the options are endless.
