Now that summer is over (well, kind of. What's with this hot weather?) we can finally get excited for Halloween. The second best day of the year, next to Christmas.

When fall comes around, us Ottawans have the upper hand. Saunders Farm, hiking in Gatineau, the most adorable coffee shop dates, we're #blessed. But we're also a short drive from Upper Canada Village where the best fall festival happens.

Pumpkinferno is a festival where this 19th century village turns into the home of 7000 hand crafted pumpkins. We're talking trees made out of pumpkins, a whole section of horoscope walls and much more. Pumpkinferno features over 150 pumpkin themed displays.

This award winning festival is one you cannot miss this fall. It's only open at night, so you can really see the beautiful pumpkin displays that go on for a kilometre.

Ottawa may not be the greatest place for a lot of things, but it's one of the best for Halloween. Upper Canada Village is located in Morrisburg, Ontario and is about an hour drive from Ottawa. The festival runs from September 29th to October 29th, so you have a whole month to grab your bae or BFF and check it out!

Seriously, this is the closest you'll get to Halloweentown. For more information, check out the website here .
