Bringing signs to hockey games is a long-standing tradition, and if you’re lucky, there can be a big payoff too. Some of the more creative sign holders have been known to receive pucks, sticks, selfies with their favourite players, and more. Ottawa Senators star Brady Tkachuk is no stranger to this tradition, and he recently made one sign holder's Valentine’s Day dreams come true. Her reaction was almost too cute for words.

The Sens fan could be spotted sitting front and centre at Canadian Tire Centre, holding a sign which read “Tkachuk will you be my Valentine?”

Much to her apparent surprise, the rough-and-tough NHL star had nothing but love for the message.

And, to show his appreciation, Tkachuk skated over to the fan, handing her a puck and bringing some serious tears to her eyes.

Talk about a V-Day treat!

While he most certainly has an on-ice reputation for throwing hard hits, Tkachuk frequently shows his softer side when it comes to fan interactions.

Take a look at the video below for some real rinkside cuteness.

When it comes to hockey content, it doesn't get much sweeter than this.

And to no one’s surprise, Sens fans simply adored this tender moment, proving yet again just how much love the city has for its All-Star.

"Something tells me he just made her month," read one message, and we agree.

Others, though, took the opportunity to poke a little fun at the heartwarming situation.

Though, overall, everyone seemed touched by this simple act.

When it comes to hockey content it doesn't get much cuter than this.

Except for Sens players cuddling their dogs, perhaps.

Of course, this is far from the first time a sports star has given us an adorable fan interaction.

In fact, this past Tuesday Raptors rookie Terence Davis shared some courtside snacks with a young fan and we literally can't with how wholesome it was.

And it's not even the first time a sports star has been asked out at a game in Canada either. Remember the video of a young Raptors fan shooting his shot (well, his mom's shot) at Pascal Siakam?

You never know what you'll see next.
