You don't need to drive far to have an incredible adventure. So why not hit the roads and go on a scenic drive near Ottawa? Less than 30 minutes away from the city you can on a short drive that will take you to the Gatineau Park lookout point.

The drive through the Gatineau Hills on the Champlain Parkway is stunning! The 10.4 km drive will take you under 40 minutes and will take you past gorgeous natural scenery before reaching the Champlain Lookout.

Along the route, you'll go past the entrance Mackenzie King Estate, which belonged to William Lyon Mackenzie King, Canada's longest-serving prime minister! Driving through the lush forest, you'll pass the entrances to several hiking trails including one that will take you to a waterfall. If you want to stretch your legs, you can park at Waterfall Trail to see the nearby falls.

Continuing on the Champlain Parkway, you'll get a beautiful view of Blake Lake before reaching the first lookout point, Huron Lookout. The lookout point is next to Champlain Parkway, and there is no hiking required to enjoy the view of Aylmer, Gatineau and Ottawa.

Finally, the last stop of the drive is the Champlain Lookout. It is a popular lookout point near Ottawa, as it is known for having one of the best views in Gatineau Park. Driving to the lookout point, you can park at one of the nearby parking spots, and walk to the lookout point which is right beside the parking lot.

This month, a section of the wall stone wall collapsed. Currently, the Champlain Lookout is partially closed while repairs are underway. As such, make sure to be respectful to the crew working on site.
