You Can Get A Whole New Kind Of Buzzed With New Giant Candy Cocktails At This Ottawa Diner
A sweet craving and a drunken mind often pair well, but one local Ottawa diner is bringing the two together in a whole new way. Pudgyboys diner is now offering giant candy cocktails and they look like something straight out of Willy Wonka's factory! If you've ever skittle-bombed a bottle of vodka or gone to town on a bottle of peach schnapps, then these boozy candy drinks were surely made for you! From Skittles to Sweedish fish and so many more, there are Ottawa candy cocktails for everyone!
So, load up the squad — and, of course, a designated driver — and head to Pudgyboys diner where you can dull your senses and give yourself a sugar rush all in one package!
When Pudgyboys first opened 11 months ago, its focus was on everything mini. However, since getting its liquor licence earlier in September, it has really taken the go-big-or-go-home mentality to heart.
"We just got our liquor license two weeks ago, and (the cocktails) have been available for about two weeks now," owner Corey Sauve tells Narcity.
"When we first opened, everything was mini! So we wanted to have mini donuts and thought it'd be funny to have jumbo cocktails in massive special-ordered martini glasses."
So far, there are six different candy cocktails to choose from including a blended Sour Skittles Margarita! According to Sauve, there are already a bunch of new exciting flavours in the works!
At the moment, everyone's favourite is the Tropical Fish Tank, Sauve explains.
"(The) most popular so far is the Tropical Fish Tank, which has blue Kool-Aid, 7up, 1 oz tequila, 1 oz vodka, 1 oz rum, and, of course, Swedish fish candy."
Each of these 25 oz drinks includes 3 oz of booze and costs roughly $13. And if you want to satisfy that sweet tooth without the added buzz, don't worry!
"We will gladly make any of (the cocktails) virgin and deduct $6," says Sauve.
If that weren't enough, in addition to the virgin cocktail option, Pudgyboys also offers a wide variety of crazy milkshakes and a huge range of sweet treats.
"We have 18 flavours (of shakes), we do seasonal flavours as well but the 18 we offer are always on the menu... From crushed ice cream cone to caramel brownie to York peppermint to cotton candy, we have it all," Sauve tells Narcity.
