Here's What You Need To Know About Patios Being Open Late In Ottawa On Canada Day

Just in time for Canada's 150th birthday, patios will be permitted to temporarily stay open till 4am on Canada Day weekend after city council approved changes on June 14th.

With just less than two weeks left until Canada Day, the city can now give restaurants and bars across the city permission to stay open into the late hours of Ottawa's biggest party. However, extending patio hours is the only authority the city has. Whether or not restaurants will be able to extended their liquor licenses is up to higher authorities.

Alcohol still won't be allowed to be served past 2am unless a restaurant applies to the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario. Nonetheless, in the spirit of patio season, we're sure that the later hours are more than a welcome change.

Durham Police Warn About Coyotes After A 6-Year-Old Girl Was Bitten On Canada Day

"Several adults scared the coyote off and it ran into the nearby woods."

Police are asking residents to take precautions after a coyote attacked a child on Canada Day.

According to Durham police, the incident, which occurred at around 8:30 p.m, was reported after a 6-year-old girl was approached and bitten by the animal at Northway Court Park.
