Honestly, Ottawa is probably the best place to be during the summer. Between biking along the Canal, grabbing a mindblowing cone at Sweet Jesus, or attending one of the many festivals, Ottawa is pretty much a summer paradise.

And one Ottawa festival is sure to guarantee all the explosive summer fun you could need this year! The 2018 Capital Ukrainian Festival is coming to Ottawa again this year, ready to help you discover the rich history behind Ukrainian culture.

From July 20 to July 22, Ottawa's Capital Ukrainian Festival will be showcasing incredible Ukrainian entertainment to help celebrate this wonderful culture. There'll be dancing (11 dancing troupes will showcase their talents through lively dancing, colourful traditional attire, and great live music!), music, food and a whole lot more to discover!

For anyone who hasn't seen Zabava dancing in person— it's an absolute must! With their high energy, crazy intensity, and insane acrobatics, there's no denying that Ukrainian dancers have their moves ON POINT. Enjoy the Zabava shows on Saturday night and let loose by joining in the fun! Ukrainians are known for their hospitality and fun-loving nature, so they're thrilled to see others partake in their activities.

But other than mindblowing dances and live music, there'll also be a marketplace - which you totally have to check out! There'll be tons of  homemade Ukrainian delicacies to indulge in, as well as beautiful ceramics and unique gifts.

You'll also be able to attend a few different weekend workshops, which will allow festival goers to gain a more hands-on understanding of Ukrainian culture, from learning about beautiful Ukrainian embroidery to gloriously hand-crafted pysanky (Easter eggs) and much more!

And for the foodies among us? Good news! There'll even be a food demonstration on July 22nd by award-winning Chef Tim Wasylko, who will be preparing traditional Ukrainian food on the spot —YUM! Smačnoho (Bon appetit)!

Keep the party going by checking out Friday night's wild Korchma tavern-style after-party, led by psychobilly/ska legends the Mad Heads. The famous Ukrainian band is sure to get your blood racing and feet moving to their rocking beats. Tickets to this epic pub night are $20 in advance or $30 at the door, which includes a return shuttle service from the main festival site.
