This is not a drill. Just when it was starting to feel like we’d never go outside again, Ottawa’s famous Saunders Farm dropped an exciting announcement. Starting May 21, the farm will be hosting social distancing campfires for up to five people at a time and don’t worry, there will be snacks.

That’s right, you can finally gather around a fire with your loved ones again, while still abiding by the current safety and gathering guidelines.

According to a post on the farm’s website, bonfires will be available for you to book every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night from Thursday, May 21.

“Get outside and enjoy a campfire with your loved ones. Perfect for a family outing, date night or small gatherings of up to five people,” the post reads.

It adds that the location's staff will start your fire for you, supplying you with wood and a small table.

You can choose from a variety of campfire packages, too.

And one of those is the special date night option that comes complete with wine, a charcuterie and cheese board, and of course, s’mores.

We’ll take s’more of all of that, please and thanks.

So, while Ontario’s reopening plans may still be evolving, this is one event that has us burning with excitement.

Each campfire site at the farm is at least 30 metres apart and comes with a small table, a portable toilet, hand sanitizer, a handwashing station, a fire extinguisher, garbage and recycling bins, and a large jug of water for putting the fire out.

Guests will not be allowed to stoke their own fire, but don’t sweat it.

There will be a farm employee nearby to add wood as needed, while still following physical distancing guidelines.

The campfire packages start at $90, rising as high as $120. But honestly what's that right now for some social distancing outdoors fun?

All of the included snacks will come prepackaged with single-use, disposable utensils.

However, guests are asked to bring their own blankets or camping chairs, as there will not be any available on site.

So mark your calendars for May 21, it's going to be lit.
