There's A Candlelight Vigil For Harambe At Parliament Hill This Friday

Remember Harambe? Of course you do. The Internet made sure you never forgot. The 17-year-old gorilla who was tragically killed at Cincinnati Zoo this summer will be solemnly remembered Friday night at a candlelight vigil on Parliament Hill.

Yes, this is a thing. Apparently.

According to the event's Facebook page, 1,900 Ottawans are planning to pay their respects to Harambe. One event organizer claims there will be two bagpipers at the ceremony.

Universities across the country have planned similar vigils, like Ryerson University, McGill and Wilfrid Laurier. Whether or not they actually happen is something only time will tell.

His spirit will live on at Parliament Hill on Friday September 23 from 8:30pm-10:30pm. Ottawa U students can meet up at Tabaret Lawn at around 7:50pm for a group walk to the Hill, according to the event page.
