This Insta-Worthy Spot In Ottawa Will Make You Feel Like You're In A Movie

Sometimes all we ever want to do is escape from reality and enter a movie, well believe it or not this spot in Ottawa will definitely transport you to a stunning movie set. Movie sets are always so beautiful, every minor detail is taken into account, whether it's the lighting or the positioning of furniture the detail is unimaginable. Whenever you think of places in Ottawa that will make you feel like royalty, it's always Parliament Hill and some cafes, but this spot is totally underrated.

Our Instagram's may be looking pretty dull at the moment cause trying to find some colour during the winter time is a real struggle. Now that spring is (slowly) coming, we can all add some vibrant colours back to our Insta pages. We can say goodbye to all of our white-snow photos and hello to pops of colour. This spot in Ottawa is sure to add a splash of pink to your page in seconds.

Rideau Hall is such a stunning location for great photos. From grand ballrooms to huge chandeliers you will be spoiled for choice when it comes to which photo to post! The residence tours lets you visit State rooms where the governor general gets her jobs done. The residence home has a wide collection of Canadian art and unique furniture. The art found on in the residence is created by famous Canadian artists like Jean Paul Lemieux, Emily Carr, and Allen Sapp.

The best part about visiting Rideau Hall is that guided tours are absolutely free of charge! The tours last about 45 minutes and you can also visit the grounds while you are there. On the grounds, there are more than 10,000 trees that fill the yard. A lot of the trees were specially planted by a visiting head of State, a member of the Royal family, or other dignitaries to mark an important event or anniversary.

While checking out the grounds you can also discover the inukshuk and the totem pole. There is also a sweeping arc of roses in the Canadian Heritage Gardens making for a stunning floral photo. After your tour, you can have a picnic on the grounds or simply chill out and play some games.

On April 28th you can start to visit without a reservation on weekends between 10 am and 4 pm. Until then you can still visit with a reservation between 10 am and 4 pm. I would highly recommend visiting when they have an open house in July and August where you can explore at your own pace.
