This New Gelato Cafe In Ottawa Is So Instagram Worthy

With summer right around the corner, I'm sure all of us can relate to the fact that we can't wait another minute for ice cream or gelato. I actually prefer gelato over ice cream, because it's so light and refreshing. And even though Ottawa has a ton of gelato spots that are amazing, when you find a favourite, you hold on to it for life.

While in this case 'new' just means newly renovated, it still counts as new as it's a whole different vibe. Piccolo Grande, which is a popular gelato spot in the ByWard Market, just underwent some major renovations and it doesn't even look like the same place. Actually, if you didn't know better, you'd think it was a different place! Not only do they sell delicious gelato, but they now have a coffee corner for those who love their coffee as well. Here is the before and after:

I mean, it has a totally different vibe and we're so into it. Piccolo Grande opened their doors again on March 15th and now there is no reason to not check it out! They have a ton of different flavours, and there is a flavour for everyone. A few of the favourites are:

  • Chocolate orange
  • Coconut
  • Blueberry
  • Mint chocolate chip
  • Caramel
  • Maple crystal

And those are just a few of the flavours that they have. They have gelato as well as sorbet, for those who have issues with dairy. There is no way this gelato spot won't become your new favourite or look amazing on your Instagram. The gelato itself and the interior are so Insta worthy.

Piccolo Grande is located at 102-55 Murray St and their hours vary. For more information on location, menu and hours, check out their website here. Make sure this spot is on your summer bucket list! You and your Instagram won't regret it.
