Do you see photos of dreamy fields of sunflowers, and then wish you were there? If so, you need to visit this new sunflower festival in Ottawa. It's the perfect spot to go with your friends to celebrate the last days of summer.
UPDATE: Saunders Farm had to cancel their Sunflower Festival due to the lack of rain in July. In an email to Narcity, they explained that the hot and dry weather meant the sunflowers couldn't grow in time for the festival.
EARLIER: Saunders Farm is famous for their Haunting Season and Frightfest, but their newest experience is a sunflower festival. Saunders Farm's new sunflower festival will take place from Aug. 9 to 18, 2019. At this incredible event, you'll have your chance to take selfies next to the sunflowers.
If you're looking for the ultimate summer Instagram photos, you'll be able to sign up for a sunflower photography class. In the workshop on Aug. 13, you'll learn how to capture the perfect sunflower photos at golden hour. Plus, the professional photographer will give you one fully edited photo of yourself in the sunflower field!
Throughout the festival, there will be tons of unique experiences you can join like farm-to-table dinners or a free sunflower yoga class. The free yoga classes are on Aug. 10 and 11 at 10:15 a.m.
At Saunders Farm during the sunflower festival, you'll also have the chance to pick your own sunflowers to bring home. Each sunflower is $5, or you can make a bouquet of five flowers for $20!
Saunders Farm is doing everything they can to ensure the blooms will be ready for the festival. But the exact bloom dates depend on the weather.
Tickets to the sunflower festival are $18 a person and include general admission to Saunders Farm. So after you've explored the festival, make sure to go for a wagon ride or you can try to escape all the hedge mazes.
