PetSmart Locations Across Canada Are Hosting A Massive Adoption Weekend

If you’re thinking of adopting a pet so you always have a best friend at home, this is the best weekend of the season to go ahead and do it.

PetSmart locations across Canada are holding what they’re calling National Adoption Weekend, meaning that there are a ton of animals just waiting for you to love them and give them a home.

Here’s everything you need to know about the nationwide event.

All PetSmart stores across Canada will be participating in the event. In total, PetSmart has nearly 1,600 pets up for adoption. PetSmart hopes all of these pets will find a loving owner by the end of the weekend.

Animals that will be up for adoption include, “dogs, puppies, cats, kittens and small pets all in need of a lifelong, loving home,” says PetSmart’s website for the event.

National Adoption Weekend will be happening all weekend from the 14th to the 16th of September, so clear your schedule!

Even if you are unable to adopt apet, there is still a way for you to help them find homes. The company is asking people to come into the stores and take a selfie with an animal and share it using the hashtag #PicMe.

The goal is to inspire other people to come in and actually adopt an animal.

PetSmart has even taken some of the hassle out of dealing with a new pet as part of their incentive for Canadians to adopt.

"The amazing organizations we work with ensure each pet is spayed and neutered prior to adoption, giving you an added peace of mind as you search for your new best friend," the event page on Facebook says.

So, if you’re looking for a new furry friend, this is the best weekend for you to get out and find one.
