Finally an origin story! Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman's trolling has been an ongoing social media feud that fans totally adore. Apparently, it began over a decade ago when the Deadpool star was married to Scarlett Johansson.
In a recent interview with The Daily Beast, Jackman was asked about his "ongoing online flame war" with Reynolds.
The actor began his response by stating that it's been so long now, it's hard to remember.
"I met him back on Wolverine, and I used to ream him because I was very close friends with Scarlett [Johansson]," Jackman told The Daily Beast.
"Scarlett had just married Ryan, so when he came on set I was like, 'Hey, you better be on your best behavior here, pal, because I’m watching' and we started ribbing each other that way, and then it all escalated with the Deadpool thing and him calling me out, and trying to manipulate me through social media to do what he wanted."
Reynolds and Johansson were married from 2008 to 2010, with their divorce finalized in 2011.
Soon after, Reynolds met Blake Lively on the set of Green Lantern, and the two tied the knot in 2012. Now, the actor has nurtured both his three daughters and his love for poking fun at Jackman.
The sarcastic feud sporadically pops up on social media where fans get a kick out of the innocent fun.
Just last week, Jackman posted a tribute to his wife Deborra-Lee Furness on their 24th anniversary. Reynolds left the top comment on the photo that reads, "Hang in there, Deb."

Last month, Reynolds and Lively donated $1 million to food banks in Canada and the U.S., and he even mentioned Jackman in the announcement post.
Back in December, Jackman trolled the Vancouver-born actor by posting a hilarious edit of his Free Guy movie poster.
That same month, Jackman wore Reynold's iconic Christmas sweater making for the perfect photo of the faux rivals.
That snap followed Reynold's "embarrassing" sweater party mistake which happened in the previous Christmas season.
In early 2019, Reynolds even posted a shot of the two actors making a truce together writing, "As a gesture of goodwill, I’m gonna make a beautiful ad for his company, Laughing Man Coffee. Can’t wait!"
There are so many more hilarious posts, and The Wolverine star isn't the only person Reynolds has a knack for internet trolling.
He's notorious for teasing his wife on her birthday by sharing dedicated posts with Lively either totally cropped out or not looking her best.
