A real-life superhero! Ryan Reynolds has spent the last few weeks showing nothing but love for Canada and is continuing the trend with his most recent donation. This time, the Deadpool actor focused his support on maritime province Nova Scotia.
The east coast is still recovering after one of the country's biggest tragedies took the lives of 22 individuals last week. One of those victims happened to be Kristen Beaton, a health care worker in Nova Scotia.
According to The Canadian Press, Reynold’s donated $5,000 dollars to a GoFundMe page meant to support the front line workers’ husband, Nick, and their two-year-old son.
The GoFundMe has currently raised $100,000 and continues to grow.
Reynolds also discovered that her family was doing more than just crowdfunding–they were trying to carry on her legacy.
It was reported that before the tragedy, Beaton advocated for the rights of health care workers when it came to having proper protective gear. Wanting to continue what his wife started, Nick has been campaigning to get PPE for all of his late wives’ coworkers.
Having been an advocate for this himself, Reynolds once again teamed up with Olympic athlete Hayley Wickenheiser and got in contact with Nick.
The Canadian Press reports they worked together in order to donate thousands of masks, hundreds of face shields, and even tablets to Nova Scotia.

The Vancouver native along with Wickenheiser had previously organized a PPE drive in Toronto where the actor was offering Deadpool memorabilia for anyone who donated.
You can even help out his Canadian-like efforts. He’s joined forces with Hugh Jackman for the All In Challenge, which will grant one lucky donor the chance to spend the day with them.
Although Ryan Reynolds left life in Canada to build an impressive Hollywood career, it might be reassuring to see that he hasn’t forgotten his northern roots.
