As Canada’s federal election draws nearer, an increasing number of people in the spotlight are coming forward to encourage Canadians to get out and vote before Monday. On Wednesday afternoon, Barack Obama tweeted his support for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in the upcoming election, and by Wednesday evening, Canadian superstar Ryan Reynolds had also shared a similar message.
Just after 9 p.m. on Wednesday evening, Reynolds took to Twitter to share an important message with his 14.7 million followers. Posting an adorable photo of his wife, Blake Lively, and the youngest of their three kids, the Canadian actor wrote, “I love B.C. I want my daughters to experience the same natural playground I grew up in.”
The Vancouver-born actor went on, “On Oct. 21, the candidate you vote for will SHAPE CLIMATE POLICY. I’m proud of the climate progress made the last 4 years. Click Elections.ca for voting info.#Capilano.”
While Reynolds doesn’t openly endorse any particular candidate for the upcoming election, he makes a reference to the last four years under Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and says he is proud of the Liberal government's progress on climate.

Reynolds, who is no stranger to making waves on social media, showed how important the issue was to him, by including the first ever social media photo of his youngest daughter, whose face has been blurred out deliberately. He also revealed the sex of their baby for the first time, confirming rumours by saying, “my daughters.”
While many of the responses and comments on Reynolds’ post focused on his new baby, others replied to applaud the actor for his political involvement this close to the election. One person tweeted, “I love it when you use your powers for good."
Another added, “Well said! I wouldn't trade living in beautiful BC for anything. Let's all do our part to keep it beautiful."

Ryan Reynolds isn’t the first big name to start talking publicly about the Canadian federal election recently. Hollywood superstar Rihanna actually DM'ed with NDP leader Jagmeet Singh earlier this month, and Toronto Raptors' Masai Ujiri reportedly shared his support for Justin Trudeau.
Former U.S. President, Barack Obama, also endorsed the Prime Minister, tweeting on Wednesday, “The world needs [Trudeau’s] progressive leadership now, and I hope our neighbors to the north support him for another term."
With the election now just days away, it remains to be seen how much of an effect these celebrity endorsements could actually have on Canadian voters.
Polls will close on Monday night.
