Saguaro National Forest In Arizona Is A Cactus Wonderland

Anytime we think of the desert, cacti come to mind. One type of cactus that you don't see often is saguaros. If you're looking to be transported to a cactus wonderland, you should check out the Saguaro National Forest in Arizona

The park is located in Tuscon, which is home to the country's biggest cacti. It mostly features large towering saguaros that are only found in a small part of the nation.

This specific desert plant can grow between 40-60 feet tall. You'll be amazed at how they tower over you. It's such a sight to behold.

You can visit this park year-round and there's a $20 vehicle pass fee. It's good for a week, so if you want to visit throughout that time, you can.

One of the best times to visit is right before sunset. The vibrant colors light up the sky and it's truly a sight for sore eyes.

With more than seven hikes to choose from, you and your friends can make a weekday trip here. The Freeman Homestead Trail is an easy, one-mile hike that'll take you through a cactus-filled grove.

If you're looking for a more challenging adventure, opt to hike the Sendero-Esperanza trail which leads to Wasson Peak. It has amazing panoramic views of the mountains.

It's between 3.5 to 8-miles long depending on how far up you want to go.
