No matter what season Texas is going through, or what holiday is coming up, eating pounds of seafood is never a bad idea. Halloween will be here before we know it and rather than throwing some boring party, Big Texas Fun has decided to host a festival with endless seafood. San Antonio residents are going home with bags of crawfish rather than candy on the 31st and we're perfectly content with it.
Starting on Thursday, October 31 from 6 to 10 p.m. a Shrimp, Lobster, and Crab Boil is taking place at none other than Retama Park in Selma, Texas, a small town only right outside of San Antonio. But the fun doesn't stop on Halloween because the fest will go well into the fall, until Sunday, November 10. Tickets for the fest start at just $6, but there's a trick to get them for even cheaper.
If you come in costume to the Shrimp, Lobster and Crab Boil your ticket becomes just $5. You'll have to purchase your tickets at the entrance to qualify for the deal, and from there the seafood awaits.
Peel n' eat Louisiana style shrimp is available for $15 per pound, jumbo Alaskan king crab legs for $50 per pound and lobster tails for $25 for half a pound. Plus there's the option for a family boil which includes 2 pounds of shrimp, 1 lobster tail, 1 crab leg, and corn and potatoes for just $100. We don't doubt you'll have leftovers.
Just because you're not from the San Antonio area, doesn't mean you can't come out and enjoy the festivities. Luckily the fest is for more than just one day, so you'll have plenty of chances. Remember, you can buy your tickets in advance to skip the line and not have to wait to get your hands on some delicious seafood.
