Visiting a farmers market on the weekend was once something we could look forward to throughout the week — now, not so much. Fortunately for many small businesses and those who are looking to support them, a San Antonio farmers market is now offering online ordering and curbside pickups to avoid leaving your safe space to get what you need. This is exactly the kind of news we needed right about now!
Pearl Farmers Market in San Antonio announced Tuesday they'd be transitioning to online ordering and curbside pickup to better serve their community in the wake of the coronavirus.
Not only does this prioritize the safety of their customers, but it also ensures that small and local businesses who depend on the weekend for revenue continue to have some form of income.
Pearl Farmers Market typically has 65+ vendors on weekends, a produce-only farmers market on Saturday, and an artisanal and prepared foods-focused market on Sunday.
So far, you can shop online from seven of their incredible vendors for things such as wine, natural solutions, and organic cleaning supplies.
You can visit their website here to browse for items and keep an eye on any future vendors being added to the list.
You can also visit their website to select specific items and create custom orders for curbside pickup.
For curbside pickup, all orders must be submitted online by Wednesday at midnight to ensure pickup on Friday.
The curbside pickup will be available 3–7 p.m. on Fridays at Pearl Stable. Their address is 307 Pearl Pkwy.
Curbside pickup makes it easy to interact with as few people as possible when picking up your items. I mean, you don't even have to leave your car!
Pearl representatives will be ready to deliver your bag to your vehicle once you arrive at Pearl Stable.
In a press release on Tuesday, Sr. Markets Manager Nancy Fitch said, “We understand that many people rely on the weekly Farmers Market and we hope this online experience will give everyone the resources they need, all while supporting our farmers.”
We couldn't agree more!
