You Can Actually Wine & Dine With Wildlife At The San Antonio Zoo This Month

You'll feel like you're in The Little Mermaid!
The San Antonio Zoo On Valentine's Day Is Letting You Dine Near Animals

If you live in Texas, there's no shortage of things to do with your special someone during the most romantic holiday of the year. For example, this Valentine's Day the San Antonio Zoo is letting you dine up-close and personal with animals from under the sea. You can make reservations today and we're sure your Valentine will appreciate it.

Wild At Heart Valentine's Experience is taking place this Friday at 5:30 p.m. for the first round of guests and then again at 7:30 p.m. for the second round.

The 7:30 p.m. time slot has already sold out, so we recommend reserving your spot(s) for the 5:30 p.m. time slot ASAP.

Check-in will be from 5 to 5:30 p.m. and finally, once everyone is seated, that's when the real fun will begin.

You and your Valentine will be at a two-seat table just inches away from Uma and Timothy.

Who, are Uma and Timothy, you might ask?

They are two of the zoo's most beautiful hippos, and they, among other sea life, will be dining with you!

Your four-course meal will include a choice between fried calamari with a basil aioli or stuffed mushrooms with Italian sausage and ricotta cheese to start.

Then, you will get to chow down on some delicious veggies tossed in a champagne vinaigrette.

Next, your choice between veal Osso Bucco or seared barramundi, both prepared deliciously.

And finally, you will be served the zoo's signature tiramisu.

All of this food, plus a glass of wine is up for grabs for just $90! Because of the alcohol that comes included with the meal, the experience is 21+ only.

While you're enjoying your romantic dinner, the adorable hippos, Uma and Timothy, will be served their favorite meals as well!

You'll also get to learn all about the two hippos from the zoo's animal care specialists.

Whether you surprise your boo with two seats at this zoo-nique experience, or if you're planning it with them, they're definitely going to love it!

If you've ever wondered who would win in a fight between a porcupine and a tiger, a little dust-up at the Calgary Zoo this weekend has found a definitive winner.

Earlier this week, a wild porcupine made its way into Sarma the tiger's habitat, and despite her being massively larger than the prickly lil' rodent, the poor thing came out of the encounter with over 100 quills embedded in her paws.
