No matter how much time passes, Frida Kahlo continues to inspire generation after generation. Her painting, poetry, and fashion are just a few reasons as to why the artist is so incredible, and why San Antonio feels the need to celebrate her each year. This summer, San Antonio's annual Frida Fest is taking place with all things Frida Kahlo!
On Saturday, July 25 and Sunday, July 26, Frida Fest is being held at Wonderland of the Americas in Downtown San Antonio.
The fest will take place each day from 12 to 6 p.m., giving attendees plenty of time to check everything out.
You'll spend the day entirely indoors, which is perfect considering it'll be unbearably hot in Texas this summer, as it is every summer.
Over 90 artisan vendors will be at the fest, offering one-of-a-kind art and handmade goods!
Plus, you'll enjoy fashion, music, performances, and culinary traditions, unlike anything you've ever seen.
Admission into the fest is totally free, and so is parking!
All you have to do is show up and be fully prepared to have a great time.
On top of all of the shopping and eating, you'll be able to listen to a traditional Mexican artisan lecture that will take place on each day of the fest.
Don't forget to look as similar to Frida as possible, because judges will be keeping a close eye on who's dressed most like her.
For the boys or those who'd rather go a more masculine route, you can dress as Diego and participate in that costume contest as well.
This is going to be the biggest Frida Fest that San Antonio has ever seen.
Summer 2020 is already looking like one for the books, thanks to the many other fests in or near Texas being planned for the season.
You won't want to miss out on all of the fun these two days will be filled with, so be sure not to make any plans that weekend.
Now to start planning your Frida and Diego costumes!
