No matter what time of year it is, you should have no trouble finding a Harry Potter festival somewhere in Texas. Now that most of us have accepted we'll never actually get into Hogwarts, we're taking any opportunity we can to live out our Potterverse fantasies. This January, a Harry Potter event in San Antonio is taking place, one that would make J.K. Rowling herself incredibly proud.
Wizards and Wands is taking place on Saturday, January 25 and going until Sunday, January 26 at Big Bang Bazaar in San Antonio.
From 10 a.m. on Saturday until 6 p.m. on Sunday each and every house in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is invited to celebrate their favorite book and movie series.
The event will have a pop-up gallery of stylish posters and prints inspired by the series, as well as toys and collectibles from local vendors.
You'll be able to shop until you drop and leave with the coolest merch ever.
Wizards and Wands is completely free to attend, and you don't have to worry about paying for parking either. They've thought of it all!
The bridge, which hangs over Wurzbach Parkway, was put into place to connect the once divided Phil Hardberger Park and offer animals and people a safe way to cross the busy road.
The bridge will also be an amazing community hangout spot, as it connects a park that features multiple amenities such as a playground, dog park and basketball courts.
The Tobin bridge will also be connecting over 7 miles of nature trails, which will undoubtedly lead to a hike that is truly unlike any other in the state.
Of course, the opening day comes with multiple restrictions to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, including limited bathroom usage and social-distancing.

Why You Need To Go: This bridge is truly unlike anything you've ever seen. Connecting two parks together, you'll find it easy to spend the whole day exploring the wilderness and crossing this massive structure that is saving both human and animal lives.
We need it now more than ever, so why wait?

In addition to the incredible experience of simply walking up and down the path, you can also consider participating in numerous special holiday events that take place on the river.
One of these events is the "Caroling Boats," where you and your gang of friends can rent a boat and take it through the river while singing your favorite holiday tunes for all of your loyal fans.
The best part about the river walk is that not only is it open 24-hours a day, it's also completely FREE, although you might find it difficult to not stop and get some famous San Antonio tacos along the way.
