A Brand New Secret Speakeasy Is Hidden In San Antonio & They Serve Free Drinks
Going to the same bars any weekend you're out can get boring, especially if you go out pretty consistently. The urge to spice things up is hard to ignore after a while, and one city in Texas now has a place where you can do just that. An incredible, hidden, speakeasy in San Antonio just opened up and offers something no other speakeasy does.
RD Speakeasy entered the night scene this month and is hidden somewhere you wouldn't expect. You may be familiar with Barn Door Restaurant, located near the San Antonio airport, but what's not so familiar is a hidden space directly behind it that now requires a password to get into.
In order to get into RD, you have to text 210-605-2292 with your party size and expected arrival time. Cross your fingers, because your request may or may not be approved. If it is, you'll receive a response with a passcode, and must repeat it through a peephole on a door under a green light.
Once inside you'll be greeted with complimentary snacks and cocktails to get the night started, and from there the night is yours. They're open from 5:30 p.m. to 12 a.m. Thursdays through Saturdays and have a delicious menu of snacks, cocktails, beer, and wine.
We know that Austin has a huge night scene, so if you're from San Antonio but find yourself in Austin quite a bit, be sure to check out some of the speakeasies they have on 6th or Rainey Street. They may not be the same as RD Speakeasy, but there's definitely something for everyone in ATX. While in San Antonio, though, you can't miss out on a chance to stop by RD.
