Just because most books have gone digital doesn't mean anything actually beats holding a book in your hand. This spring, there will be no better place to shop around for a new read than at the San Antonio Book Festival. You could leave with a brand new hardback, an oldie but a goodie, or even your favorite author's signature.
The San Antonio Book Festival is back for its eighth year on Saturday, April 4 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The fest will take place at the Central Library and Southwest School of Art in downtown San Antonio, the same gorgeous spot it has been hosted in previous years.
Each year, authors from all over attend the fest to meet fans, give autographs, host their own events, and much more.
The lineup of authors was just released, and it's the best we've seen yet!
The fest will feature 120+ authors such as Adrienne Brodeur, Sandra Cisneros, Scott Pelley, Saeed Jones, Kathy Valentine, and more. You can check out the full lineup here.
Aside from the nearly endless list of authors attending, there'll be panel discussions, book sales, children’s and teen activities, food trucks, and more.
Thanks to the success of the festival each year (it attracts around 20,000 people) it's bringing with it book-themed events in the days leading up to it.
A Book Appétit Literary Feast at the Witte Museum is taking place Thursday, April 2 and San Antonio's first-ever Lit Crawl will be held Friday, April 3.
All of these lit(erature) activities have us incredibly excited for the big event April.
This year's book festival is looking like it'll be the best one yet, so if you're in the San Antonio area or able to make the drive, clear your schedule for that weekend.
Your bookshelves will thank you.
