The day is finally here! After 5 years of bringing joy to countless fans all over the globe, it's officially time for the Schitt's Creek finale to air. Dan Levy has often expressed gratitude that he gets to wrap up the hit series on his terms and give viewers the ending they deserve, but that hasn't stopped emotions from running high.
Over the past six seasons, we've watched the Rose family adjust to living in Schitt's Creek, which is the exact opposite of the life that Johnny, Moira, David, and Alexis had imagined for themselves. It was hard at first, but the Rose family has shown some real character growth, which makes saying goodbye all the more painful.
On the bright side, this may not be the last we see of Levy and company. The 36-year-old has previously expressed interest in creating a Schitt's Creek movie after the series finale, although nothing has been confirmed as of now.
After tonight's emotional episode, viewers can also tune into a documentary special that will give an inside look of all the hard work that the cast and crew have put into creating the beloved series over the years. Make sure you have your tissues ready!
Seeing as Dan Levy not only stars in the show, but also created it along with his father, it only makes sense that his emotions are running incredibly high right now, and he hasn't been afraid to share that with fans.
"Just a heads up that the series finale will air at 8pm so that we can follow it with this incredible documentary on the making of our last season. It was made by my good friend/tv genius @amyjuliasegal and it’s very special. See you all at 8PM on Tuesday night for a good ol’ cry," the actor wrote on Instagram.
Emily Hampshire, who plays Stevie Budd on the hit sitcom, reminded fans about tonight's finale with a sweet and simple IG post. "The final curtain. 😭💗🥰" the Montreal-born star wrote.
If you want more of Hampshire in your life, be sure to check her out in the new Quibi series, 50 States of Fright!
Actor Noah Reid got a bit sentimental on Instagram when he posted a few adorable photos of him and Levy, who also happens to be his on-screen lover.
"This shoot was insanely fun, and an amazing homage to my favourite TV couple. Featuring @instadanjlevy as Ingrid Bergman, Molly Ringwald and Julia Roberts, and absolutely nailing it. Thanks @entertainmentweekly we needed this," Reid captioned the sweet post.
You may know Sarah Levy as Twyla on Schitt's Creek, but did you know that she also happens to be the sister of Dan Levy and daughter of Eugene?
The actress reposted a super sweet video homage of her fellow cast and crew members, captioning it, "Oh boy here we go. 🥺".
Be sure to tune into the series finale of Schitt's Creek, tonight at 8 p.m. EST!
