7 Things You Didn't Know About "Schitt's Creek" Star Noah Reid

You know the Canadian actor for his heartwarming role as David Rose's love interest on the CBC sitcom. Born and raised in Toronto, he's been in the entertainment industry since the mid-'90s and his breakout role wasn't as Patrick Brewer. Here are seven things you probably didn't know about Schitt's Creek's Noah Reid.

His First Production Was In Beauty And The Beast

According to IMDb, when he was just eight years old, Reid played Chip the baby teacup in a Toronto production of the Disney film.

He Used To Voice A Well Known Turtle

The Schitt's Creek star actually started out doing quite a bit of voice acting including playing Franklin Turtle from 1997 to 2004. In addition to that, he did some voice work on The Magic School Bus, Rolie Polie Olie, and the Canadian cartoon Babar.

He's A Singer 

Reid's Instagram account shows that not only is he a talented actor, but he has a singing career too! His newest single called "Honesty" comes out on Friday and is part of his new album Gemini. He'll be taking his music on tour this month starting in Vancouver.

He's Engaged To A Fellow Canadian Actress

In December, the actor announced on Instagram that he got engaged to his long-time partner Clare Stone. The Canadian actress has been in quite a few projects and her IMDb notes that her appearances include Murdoch Mysteries, Flashpoint, and Rookie Blue, where the couple starred in a 2012 episode together.

He Has Both Canadian & U.S. Citizenship 

IMDb claims that Reid's father is Canadian. His mother, who comes from Bulgarian heritage was raised in California, giving him dual citizenship.

He Starred In An ABC Family Sitcom In 2015

The 32-year-old played the lead role in Kevin from Work in 2015. The show was part of ABC Family but IMDb says it was axed after one season. Luckily two years later, he joined the cast of Schitt's Creek.

He's Friends With Life With Derek's Michael Seater

From 2002 to 2006, Reid and Seater starred in Strange Days at Blake Holsey High and according to IMDb, they became best friends off set. Then in 2015, Seater directed the rom-com People Hold On that starred his Life with Derek co-star Ashley Leggat along with Reid. The actors' last online interaction was in October 2019 when Seater jokingly tweeted about a remake featuring only dogs.
