While post-secondary education in Canada is often deemed expensive, there are a variety of scholarships that students can apply for to help them battle through some of the debt that they may be facing. While a majority of these scholarships often reflect upon your grades or athletic ability, one Canadian based company is actually offering students across the globe a scholarship if they sweat too much. So, if you find yourself suffering from hyperhidrosis, you can actually be eligible for this scholarship.
A Montreal based company, Dermadry, has announced that they will be giving away a $1,000 USD (roughly $1,300 CAD) scholarship to one student across the globe who sweats too much. On top of this, they will also be giving this sweaty student one of their Dermadry Total devices, which helps to diminish the effects of hyperhidrosis.
According to Dermadry, anyone who is over 18 and suffering from this condition is eligible for this scholarship across the globe. However, Hyperhidrosis is a medical condition that affects around 5% of the global population.
Those who suffer from this condition experience excessive sweating, and are often up to five times more sweaty than the average person, which can be extremely challenging when it comes to living your daily life, especially if you're a student.
The most common body parts where those with the condition experience excessive sweating are their hands, feet, and underarms.

According to Dermadry, students who suffer from this condition often avoid social activities and classes, as sweating hands are known to ruin books, papers, and even electronics. Due to this, it often increases the already stressful life of the student. It can also lead to anxiety, isolation and even bullying.
However, by creating this scholarship, Dermadry hopes to help normalize the condition and help students feel more comfortable participating in school activities that this condition may have discouraged them from doing in the past.
If you find yourself suffering from this condition, you are able to apply for the scholarship by submitting a short video about how hyperhidrosis affects you to their website.
Once submissions are received by the company they will select finalists and ask the public to vote for their favorite story. This student will then be rewarded with the scholarship.
Submissions will be open until August 21, 2019, at 11:59 p.m. You can find more information about the scholarship on their website.
