Seattle Is Readying For Spring With A Beachy Oyster Fest Next Month
We know it's a little chilly in Washington with a potential snowmageddon on the way. But it's never too late to start dreaming about summers. As a result, Seattle festivals in 2020 have been on our search term radar for a while now and this massive oyster fest (on the beach no less) tops our list!
The annual Alki Oyster Fest is all set to take place on the shores of Alki Beach. Save the date for Sunday, February 16 this year, so you can get a taste of the state's favorite seafood.
Tickets are on sale for $45 right now and these aren't just to get you into the venue. They also include eight oysters, two drink tickets and live music too!
Do you want to know the best part? All net proceeds from the ticket go to the Puget Sound Restoration Fund, a non-profit that protects our marine habitat.
So, while you shuck on those shellfish, you'll actually be donating to clean water that equals damn good oysters. Can the deal get any better?
This year, the fest is bigger than ever. So far, five of the Evergreen State's best oyster joints have confirmed their attendance.
You'll find Hama Hama, Baywater Shellfish Company, Taylor Shellfish, Chelsea Farms, and Olympia Oyster Company on the beach serving up this seafood extravaganza on the half shell.
Those clams will be best complemented by tons of booze too.
You can hold microbrews and wines from West Seattle Brewing Company, Alki Beach Pub, and Harry's Beach House in hand as you enjoy the sand, seas, and Seattle's skyline.
You can expect to pair this seafood fiesta with music from over 10 artists like Amanda Winterhalter, The Highstepers, and Alki All Stars that'll be cranking out everything from rock 'n' roll to electronic, country, and hip hop music.
If you dig food festivals like us, there's no dearth of them in the city that likes to eat.
All this to say, spring/summer, we're ready for you!
