This Seattle Food Spot Turns Into An Insane 70s Disco Every Weekend

Stayin' alive on a train! 🤩
The Orient Express In Seattle Turns Into A 70s Disco Every Saturday

There's something about the 70s that makes us want to wind back time, let loose, and go back. But now, you don't have to just imagine any more. The Orient Express in Seattle may be an unassuming Chinese restaurant on most days, but over the weekend, this space transforms into an actual, bellbottom-wearing disco!

The best part? This sequin and silk shindig happens inside train cars in Seattle's SoDo! These are a series of antique refurbished train cars.

Rumor has it that one of them once served as President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s personal transport.

The one-of-a-kind party is hosted by Stayin' Alive and happens every Saturday except the last one of the month. It features DJs who spin past, present, and future disco music all night long. The 21+ event goes down between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. and has a $20 cover charge that you can pay with cash or card at the door.

On most nights, it features a drag queen, and sleight of hand magician to entertain you with tricks.

It even has a vintage disco clothing pop-up shop stocked with everything from feather boas to printed bellbots, in case you forgot your own retro garb.

But in the spirit of the party, remember to dress the era and get some perfect insta-worthy shots.

If you've partied long and hard and get hungry, you can also tuck into everything from orange chicken and potstickers to spring rolls and noodles at this spot.

The next rave goes down on December 31 and comes with a glittery disco ball that'll drop at midnight.

It includes a glass of champagne to ring in the new decade too. You can find tickets here.

So make sure you grab your besties, dress retro and hit the dance floor. You can even get some Chinese or Thai takeout for later.
