If you're Canadian, you know who Shania Twain is. It's just a fact. Although her rise to fame in the late '90s and early 2000s have secured her place in Hollywood, she's been out of the mainstream music scene for quite some time now. With her most recent announcement, she's making sure there's no one left in North America who doesn't know who she is. Shania Twain's Las Vegas residency isn't the only concert announcement that's helping her climb the ladder of fame again.
She started to creep her way back into Hollywood earlier this year when she filmed a country music movie with Riverdale's KJ Apa.
Their onset antics introduced a whole new generation to Shania Twain.
After the filming of her movie, I Still Believe, it was announced that she managed to land herself a Las Vegas residency, something only very few artists get the chance to experience.
Her residency begins in December and will be making a lot of fans that much more excited for the Christmas season.
That isn't the only stage Twain will be performing on in the next few months.
It was just revealed that the Canadian country singer will once again be taking the stage at the upcoming American Music Awards.
While it may not seem that long ago, Twain hasn't performed on the American Music Awards stage since 2003.
That's 16 years ago!
She'll be taking the award show stage to perform a medley of her greatest hits, so get ready for this to be a legendary performance.
She is after all still the female country singer with the most records sold worldwide.
The awards are meant to honour the biggest hits in music over the last ten years as this decade comes to an end.
With a performance from Twain, they'll be doing just that.
Other performers announced for the awards include Camila Cabello, Billie Eilish, Selena Gomez, Dua Lipa, Lizzo, and Taylor swift.
You can catch Shania Twain's awards show performance on ABC November 24 at 8:00 pm EST.
