In a special two-day sale, Shopper's Drug Mart & Cineplex have come together to give you movie tickets when you spend. The drug store's deal gets you two free tickets to catch a flick in theatres if you spend $75 of more at Shoppers. However, it's only on for a limited time.
The promotion is in place on Sunday, December 29 and Monday, December 30 at Shoppers locations across the country.
According to the store's website, getting the tickets is as easy as spending $75 on almost anything in the store. So that means you can buy all the groceries, toiletries, and makeup you would normally have to get, but also walk away with a little bonus night out.
The only exemptions that don't count towards your $75 total are prescriptions, products that contain codeine, tobacco, stamps, passport photos, gift cards, lottery tickets, event or transit tickets, and pre-paid phone cards.
So if you want to stock up on $75 worth of clearance Christmas candy and other seasonal goods, you can and get Cineplex tickets as a little gift for yourself.
The tickets are in the form of two Cineplex Admit One certificates, which are good for one general admission each and are accepted at every Cineplex theatre.
While the deal only covers general admission, with this kind of voucher, Cineplex says you can upgrade to a premium film format like IMAX, 3D, 4DX, or AVX for an additional fee.
If you wanted to redeem one over the holiday break, you could use it to see films like the latest Star Wars story, Frozen 2, Jumanji: The Next Level, A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood, or the new Cats movie.
The other good news is that if you don't like any of those films that are playing right now, there's no rush to redeem. The passes generally don't expire for two years after they are printed. Plus, if you live in Saskatchewan, Quebec, Nova Scotia, or Newfoundland, the passes won't ever expire.
The passes may not expire for a while, but the promotion to get them will.
Shopper's two-day sale and Cineplex tickets event is only on from Sunday, December 29 to Monday, December 30. More details about the deal and conditions are on their website.
