Even though it's now been a couple of years since I graduated high school, I still enjoy the guilty pleasure of watching a teen drama every now and then. Shows like Gossip Girl and Riverdale can make you feel a little nostalgic, although the lives of your favourite characters are (hopefully) a lot more dramatic than yours. If you love teen dramas, here are six shows like Elite on Netflix Canada you need to watch.

The second season of the hit Netflix original dropped today, September 6, and after the first season scored 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, we're expecting viewers to love this one even more.

Much like Elite, Baby is a foreign language series that follows the lives of troubled high school teens. By day, the main characters seem like your average students, but when night falls, they take to the streets of Rome to live out their scandalous double life.

The Society

Rating: 85% on Rotten Tomatoes

In the town of West Ham, a group of teenagers wake up one morning to find that everyone but them has mysteriously vanished, leaving them in charge of their own lives. This sounds like a great thing, in theory, but things take a turn for the worst pretty quickly.

You've heard of alcoholics anonymous, but what about shoplifters anonymous? In Trinkets, three teenage girls become fast friends after meeting at a support group to help with their stealing addiction. The new bond seems ideal, but it ends up doing much more harm than good.

Bates Motel

Rating: 93% on Rotten Tomatoes

If you've ever seen the classic film Psycho, you probably know the story of Norman Bates. Bates Motel is a prequel to the movie, and gives an insider look at how Bates' psyche fell apart during his teenage years.

The Rain

Rating: 82% on Rotten Tomatoes

If you're the type of person who enjoys sci-fi thrillers, you'll definitely enjoy The Rain. The series is about two siblings that manage to survive a brutal virus that wipes out the majority of the population. The pair sets out on a quest to find safety, but of course, it doesn't come easily.

Tidelands combines a few of the best genres there are (crime, drama, and fantasy) into one awesome series. When an ex-con returns home to her small fishing village, the discovery of a dead body leads her to uncover all kinds of dark and mysterious secrets about the people around her.
