Just when you think Sia can’t get any more mysterious, she goes and does something completely unexpected. Yesterday, the notoriously socially phobic pop star took us all by surprise. Sia paid for shopper's items at a California Walmart in Palm Springs, California.
Cooking a big Thanksgiving dinner can be expensive and stressful. What’s better than getting all of your costs covered for the holidays?
Of course, Sia performed the random act of kindness in the most Sia way possible. She went undercover (sort of).
The best-selling singer-songwriter surprised Walmart shoppers yesterday afternoon by going from register to register and asking to pay for all of their items. When asked who she was, Sia replied that her name was Cici and that she just won the lottery.
If you haven’t heard of Sia before, here’s a little refresher. She became internationally famous for her 2005 hit, “Breathe Me” and went on to create other hits, including 2013’s “Elastic Heart,” “Chandelier,” and “Cheap Thrills.”
Viewers say that most people did not recognize the Australian-born star. After all, she wasn’t wearing her iconic face-covering wig. Her identity has been pretty much been kept a secret from the general public (take notes, Hannah Montana).
According to KESQ News Channel 3, most shoppers only realized who “Cici” actually was after reviewing her celebrity photos. However, a few eagle-eyed fans were able to identify her.

She was also spotted at a local TJ Maxx on E Palm Canyon Road in Palm Springs spreading the holiday joy.

Variety reported that she purchased a Palm Springs home in 2013 and got married in the city the following year.
We love to see celebrities using their influence for good and giving back. If you want to see more heart-warming celeb stories, Matthew McConaughey helped make 800 meals for California wildfire responders and Colin Kaepernick performed a homeless outreach in Oakland.
