If you’re an Edmonton local, you’ve probably gotten used to hopping on a plane every time you want to go to a big music festival. Or perhaps you’ve just had to miss them and watch all the influencers on your feed enjoy. Well, not this time. Soundtrack Music Festival is bringing big names like Kesha, Timbaland, T.I., and other stars to Alberta this June.
On Friday, June 26 and Saturday, June 27, festival-goers will be able to watch Third Eye Blind, Flavor Flav of Public Enemy, and Practically Hip perform live.
Trust us, the rest of the line-up is just as awesome and nostalgic. Safe to say, there is something for everyone in this eclectic line-up.
And with Flavor Flav and Timbaland in the mix, there are bound to be some seriously throw-back bangers blasting all weekend long.
Last year, the festival only took place on one day but they've expanded to two days this year.
The festival will take place in Kinsmen Park, which will be just by the river. It's the perfect venue for a fun, bright, summery gathering.
Tickets will be up for sale beginning on Friday, March 13. The tickets are being sold as part of a three-tier system, and yes, they will be cheaper if you get in there early.
The first 2000 people to get the general admission tickets will pay $99 per person for the two-day pass, whereas the next 2000 people will pay $109 per person for the same pass.
If you want to treat yourself like a VIP, and you should totally consider it because the perks are amazing, then you can pay $249 for the full experience.
The features of the VIP access pass include private bars, washrooms, complimentary dining, more shade, better seats, elevated viewing spots, exclusive space in front of the stage, partner perks, and so much more.
That's right; if you've ever wondered what it'd be like to witness Kesha's glitter-filled presence up close, you can make it happen this summer.
The event has also been rated as suitable for all ages, so youth also have the chance to pick up discounted tickets. They will only pay $30 for the two-day pass.
In addition to these major top 40 artists from the past and the present, you will also be able to munch on amazing food from local food trucks.
The event also has a full-site liquor license, so you can be sipping cocktails every step of the way.
All the proceeds go towards supporting local charities, so you can feel good about yourself, too. The charities include the Kinsmen Club and other local Edmonton charities.
So if you can't make it to Coachella and want to listen to cool live music right here in the city, do yourself a favour and jump on those tickets.
