Steve Carell & Lisa Kudrow’s New Netflix Show Is Exactly What We Need Right Now

'The Office' and 'Friends' collab we always wanted!
'Space Force' On Netflix

Oh my god, it’s happening! As if news of Steve Carrell making his return to the small screen in Space Force on Netflix isn’t good enough, it’s now been announced that Friends star Lisa Kudrow is also a part of the upcoming original series.

Just this morning, the streamer provided fans with a first look at the highly anticipated series, as well as the cast and premiere date.

If you haven’t yet heard about Space Force, E! News reports that the series stars Carrell as Mark R. Naird, a four-star general and decorated pilot who has ambitious dreams of running the United States Air Force. When Mark is assigned a different role in the Armed Forces, he finds himself thrown for a loop.

At the request of the president, Mark has been asked to lead the new sixth branch — the Space Force. Although he is skeptical, Mark packs his family up and moves them to Colorado, where he works alongside a “colourful team of scientists and ‘Spacemen' who are tasked by the federal government to get America back to the moon and achieve total space dominance.”

If you loved Carrell as Michael Scott in The Office, Space Force is going to be the Netflix Original of your dreams.

The upcoming show will also see Kudrow take on the role of Maggie Naird, Mark’s wife. According to E! News, Maggie is a typical Air Force wife who has pushed her goals to the side over the years in support of her husband’s career. As Mark’s position at the Space Force grows, Maggie finds herself growing in a different direction.

Other actors cast in the series include John Malkovich (Dangerous Liaisons), Diana Silvers (Booksmart), Tawny Newsome (Brockmire), Ben Schwartz (Sonic the Hedgehog), Jimmy O. Yang (Silicon Valley), Noah Emmerich (The Truman Show), and Canadian actor Don Lake (Life with Bonnie).

Kudrow also recently starred in the Netflix original series Feel Good, based on the life of Canadian comedian Mae Martin. The show has been a huge hit with viewers and even scored 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.

A trailer for Space Force has yet to be released, but the show will be coming to the streaming service on Friday, May 29. Make sure to mark your calendars!
