Edmonton Oilers' start, Connor McDavid is still managing to win the hearts of fans even while the season is postponed. On Friday, May 15, a video emerged on Facebook of a young Albertan girl reacting to a birthday message from Oilers' golden boy Connor McDavid. The video has blown up and people are just melting over her adorable reaction.

Narcity spoke to Julia Cardinal, mother of seven-year-old Annalise Cardinal, who told us how her daughters' wildest dreams came true last week.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Julia couldn't throw a big birthday party for her young daughter. "We weren't able to invite a lot of her friends, and she was kind of sad about it," she told us.

Cardinal told us that Annalise's hockey team was chosen to go and skate during intermission for an Oilers' game last year.

She was able to high-five McDavid during the game and ever since then Annalise has been obsessed with the star player.

So the family decided that they were going to do an Oilers' theme for the birthday party and even decided to get a Connor McDavid cake for the occasion.

However, Julia wanted to make her daughters' birthday even more special, so she posted photos of Annalise at her birthday party.

One photo shows Annalise, dressed in total Oilers' gear and holding a sign that read, "My wish for my 7th birthday is to get a shout-out from Connor McDavid."

Believe it or not, her wish came true. The video came to the attention of the right people and a few days later, Connor McDavid recorded a brief but adorable message for his young fan.

In the video, McDavid wishes her a very Happy Birthday and says he wishes he could've attended her birthday party. "Obviously with everything going on, I couldn't make it," he adds.

Before ending the video, McDavid says, "Go Oilers Go!"

In a video posted by Annalise's grandmother, the video young girl is seen as having a meltdown after watching the video message. The video is so cute you have to see it for yourself.

As she's watching the video on her phone, she puts her hands over her mouth in shock. Once the video is done, she is seen crying and hugging a member of her family.

We're not crying, you're crying.

It turns out that McDavid isn't just a maestro on the ice — he's a total champion of making peoples' days with lovable birthday shout-outs.
