Bianca Andreescu's Mom, Dad & Puppy Came Out To See Her Make History Last Night (PHOTOS)
Bianca's officially the first female Canadian tennis player to ever make the quarter-finals in the U.S. Open.
Canadian tennis star Bianca Andreescu took on 25th ranked player Elise Mertens of Belgium in Wednesday night's quarter-final match of the U.S Open. Bianca Andreescu fans were out in huge numbers and among them cheering her on was her mom, dad and fur baby Coco, which we got glimpses of during the match and in between sets.
All eyes may have been on Andreescu at the quarter-final match, but Coco was also getting some attention.
Andreescu entered the match as the first female Canadian tennis player to ever make the quarter-finals in the U.S. Open and the first Canadian tennis player to make it since 1992.
After a rough start, Andreescu managed to muster up all the strength that she had to pull off one of the biggest victories in Canadian tennis history. With last night's victory, Bianca is the first Canadian to make the U.S. Open semi-finals since 1984 and, again, the only female Canadian tennis player to ever make it this far.
Not only does Andreescu continue to make history for Canadian tennis players, but she's also setting the bar high and paving the way for young tennis players everywhere. At the age of 19, she's already becoming the face of Canadian tennis and has the potential to be the best in the world in the near future.
Andreescu has a family, a puppy and a whole nation behind her and they continue to support her throughout her incredible season, raising her up.
Andreescu will take on Belinda Bencic of Switzerland on Thursday, Sept. 5 in the semi-finals following the Serena Williams VS. Elina Svitolina match. All of Canada will be ready and waiting. Let's go, Bianca!
