For the first time in history, the Toronto Raptors will be moving onto the NBA finals after beating the Bucks 100-94. With the game making history, it was no surprise that there were some A-list guests in the audience to cheer on their favourite team. Multiple celebrities attended the Raptors game in person at the Scotia Bank arena, while others cheered on from around the city. Some of these celebrities included Drake, Toronto Mayor John Tory, Shawn Mendes, Justin Trudeau, and Lilly Singh.
Of course, with Drake being the Raptors most enthusiastic ambassador, it comes as no surprise that he was cheering on his team from the sidelines last night. If you watched the game last night, Drake made many appearances as he enthusiastically congratulated the Raptors on the court after their victory. While Drake has been in attendance the entire season, he's not the only one who is supporting the Raptors as they move onto the finals.
Mayor John Tory was actually spotted outside the arena at Jurassic Park. He was seen sporting a black and gold Raptors blazer as he mingled with the fans to cheer on the Raptors.
Tory has quickly become one of the Raptors biggest fans and has been part of their journey into the finals. This morning, he announced that in order to celebrate the win of the Raptors, the Toronto sign at Nathan Phillips will be lighting up red and black throughout the night.
Canadian Youtuber and comedian, Lilly Singh was also in the audience last night as she cheered on the Raptors. She was spotted with Humble the Poet as they both celebrated the win of the Raptors.
Of course, other celebrities showed their Raptor's spirit away from the arena. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau posted a photo of him and his son on a couch in matching red Raptors sweaters, watching the game from home. Trudeau also tweeted out later that night, congratulating the team on their win.
Shawn Mendes was also cheering on the Raptors from a pub. A video captures him looking nervous as he watches the game unfold throughout the night.
Meanwhile, other celebrities and athletes were in attendance at last night's game, like former Toronto Maple Leaf Tie Domi, Blue Jays pitcher Marcus Stroman, former Raptor Bismack Biyombo, and football legend Pinball Clemons.
As the Raptors move to the finals on Thursdays, it can be expected that even more celebrities will be seen hopping on the bandwagon and cheering on our team.
