Since their victorious NBA win last year, the Toronto Raptors have made a name for themselves in the basketball world. The defending NBA champs have found themselves continuing to succeed as they broke the record for Canada's longest winning streak in sports history. Recently, Raptors star Fred VanVleet opened up about how spoiled he and his teammates feel playing on Canada's only NBA team.

The 25-year-old star gushed about the 6ix while responding to a question about the John Beilein controversy.

According to Bleacher Report, Beilein — the former head coach of the Cavaliers — is facing accusations of "acting like a dictator" towards players before he left the team.

VanVleet was asked whether the reports have made him appreciate what the Raptors have built, and his response towards the Canadian team was heartwarming.

"It doesn't take that for me. I think I try to be somebody who keeps things in perspective. I cry and moan every now and again just because that's what we do as players, we're spoiled," VanVleet said, according to TSN.

"But I think we all understand how good we've got it here. Everyone's nervous around the trade deadline just because we know how good we've got it here."

"You just look around the league, and there are less fortunate situations. I'm not going to kick anybody when they're down, but I think I have it really good here..."

"...and I think us as a team realize how special of a group we have. Just living in the moment, taking this season for what it is and then deal with whatever comes after that," he added.

However, this isn't the only time that the star has opened up about admiration for the 6ix.

VanVleet talked about his family's love for Toronto back in September during an interview with Elle Canada.

Fred dished on his favourite places to take his wife and kids during his free time and how much the city's support meant to him.

The Raptors star even revealed that his daughter was a dual citizen.
