DeRozan Teases BFF Kyle Lowry About His Age On His Birthday (PHOTOS)
KLow's celebrating his 34th birthday.
With everyone staying indoors, birthdays, like a lot in life, aren't really the same right now. But the Toronto Raptors went all out to make sure one teammate was feeling the love on his cake day on March 25. It's Kyle Lowry's birthday and the team sent the All-Star point guard a touching video sent from all corners of the team's self-isolation.
Though we're sure Lowry never planned to celebrate turning 34 years of age in the midst of a global pandemic, at least he gets to spend his day alongside.
And the Raptors did their best to make him feel like he was surrounded by his buddies on his big day with a wholesome video shared onto social media.
Many of his teammates, including Serge Ibaka, Fred VanVleet, Norman Powell, and Marc Gasol, sent KLow thoughtful video messages from their own respective shut-ins.
"Continue to be you, continue to live, love, laugh, inspire,” said Rondae Hollis-Jefferson in his video.
"Miss you," added VanVleet. "I wish we were all together celebrating."
So do we, Fred.
Steady Freddy added a "happy 27th birthday" later in the video, which unsurprisingly seemed to delight the 34-year-old Kyle.
In a comment on the Raptors' Instagram post of the video, Lowry responded: "Love my teammates!!! I miss all y’all!!! Thank y’all!! @fredvanvleet yup 27!! 😂😂"
That might have been the best present Kyle could have asked for.
It wasn't just Lowry's current teammates in Toronto who got in touch.
NotableDeMar DeRozan wished his buddy a happy birthday, although he took it in the other direction than VanVleet.
"That moment when your bro turn 39," reads the Instagram story DeRozan uploaded. "Happy Birthday my Dog! @kyle_lowry7."
Despite the dig at his advancing years, Lowry made sure to repost the picture onto his own Instagram story.
Earlier in March, after playing a game against the Utah Jazz, who had two players turn up as positive for COVID-19.
Since then, they've beenand trying to keep themselves entertained any way they can.
For example, Ibaka has made the most of his isolation byonto social media to combat the boredom.
Mafuzzy also made a little spin-off from his online show, "How Hungry Are You?" and turned it into "How Bored Are You?"
The answer, apparently, is "very."
