OG Anunoby's High-School Dunk Game Shows He Was Born To Be An NBA Champ (VIDEO)
The OG of OGs!
When it's meant to be, it's meant to be. He may be at the centre of an "art" debate with one particular teammate right now, but OG Anunoby's high-school dunk videos show he's always had what it takes to be an NBA star. Clips of the forward starring at a junior level have resurfaced online this week.
The impressive footage dates back as far as 2013, when the teenage OG was crowned slam dunk champ at his high school.
The first almost two-minute video was posted to the Raptors subreddit on Tuesday, February 11. It shows a young Anunoby participating in — no, sorry, dominating — a dunk contest at his alma mater Jefferson City High School in Missouri.
The London-born baller, who would have been 16 at the time the video was shot judging by the upload date on YouTube, makes a few lazy-looking attempts at dunking.
Then, he steps it up several notches, dunking right over two pals in a move that seemed to bring the house down.
Another video, dated around a year-and-a-half after the first, shows OG cleaning up at the Kansas-Missouri Stateline Showdown dunk contest.
Again, onlookers can't seem to believe the moves OG is pulling off. Judging from the clips, it's hardly surprising. Anunoby looked a monster of a player at that level.
According to Sportsnet, Anunoby's obvious ability at junior level saw him receive numerous scholarship offers from major colleges during his time in high school.
Ultimately, he would join Indiana University's Hoosiers out of high school, playing there for two years before being drafted by the Raptors in the summer of 2017.
Four years on from this second video, and he's a 22-year-old NBA champ.
And, on Monday, February 10, he put in a career-best NBA performance against the Minnesota Timberwolves. According to CBS Sports, OG recorded 25 points with 12 rebounds, three assists, three steals, and a block in 36 minutes.
He may have only been in the 6ix for less than three years, but OG seems a hugely popular figure in the dressing room.
Even ex-Raptor Kawhi Leonard appears to have a soft spot for him, after he was shown checking on the Raptor after unintentionally causing himduring a game.
And recently, of course, OG has got himself involved in one of the most iconic off-court moments the franchise has seen in past years.
That, of course, is, and the teammates' resultant
OG may insist he introduced Serge to the scarf game, but he had to suffer throughon Tuesday.
From dunking to trolling, the OG Anunoby story.
