Toronto Raptors are getting everything ready to bring you back to the '90s. For their 25th anniversary, this season, the NBA champions are getting into the retro spirit with throwback apparel and more. And even their home turf is getting an old-school makeover, with the unveiling of a new
Tonight, Monday, October 28, sees Canada's team host the Orlando Magic, and it promises to be a special night for fans. The team will show off the OG Raptors jerseys, including the hugely popular retro logo. What's more, the entire Scotiabank Arena court has been transformed, and its a total dream for die-hard fans.
The Raps take on the Magic tonight sporting the old-school look, and it's the first of six times this season they will throw it back.
According to TSN, the Raps will also be wearing their throwback jerseys on December 11 against Toronto's beloved departed king Kawhi and his new team (boo), the L.A. Clippers, on January 28.
The old threads will also be worn when Raps O.G. Vince Carter's Atlanta Hawks come to play on April 10 game, as well as the February 25 game against the Milwaukee Bucks.They'll also be in Memphis on March 28 wearing the jerseys, as the Grizzlies are also celebrating 25 years, and in Toronto on March 30.
So, there's plenty of time to catch the Raps playing it old school if you're unable to go to tonight's game.
On Monday, the Raps shared a first-look at the court design for the '95 Retro Rewind nights on Twitter and we must say it looks pretty swish.
Unsurprisingly, given the love that exists for the Raptors' retro gear, fans are unable to contain themselves with excitement and awe.
"You don't have to be a raptors fan to appreciate this beauty", says one fan on Twitter.
"My 10-year old self is super stoked to see this court again," says another nostalgic Raps fan in response to the court images.
, but they certainly like the retro look.
A couple of months ago, images of aand fans drooled over what could have been the court design for the 2019-2020 season. And, it turns out, those predictions were pretty, pretty close.
These images were leaked months beforesparking a wave of excitement within the fanbase.
The Raptors vs. Magic game is tonight at 7:30 p.m. so if you're unable to catch them in action at Scotiabank Arena, make sure to tune in and watch them relive the '90s all night long.
