There are two ways you can go into retirement - kicking and screaming or (apparently) kicking and dancing. Rob Gronkowski danced with the Laker Girls for a hilarious halftime show last night and had the audience in stitches.
The former tight end for the New England Patriots and three-time Super Bowl champion took the sports world by storm when he made his debut at the Los Angeles Lakers halftime show. But he wasn’t alone.
British comedian James Cordon joined him on stage (of course) along with tennis star Venus Williams. Dressed in the Lakers’ bright gold uniform with purple trim, the 6’6”, 265 pound NFL star gave it his all to hit every dance move.
The entire routine was a part of Corden’s The Late Late Show - because why else would this happen?
There were high kicks, booty drops, and pops, much to the love of the crowd.
Gronkowski’s girlfriend, Sports Illustrated Model Camille Kostek posted adorable Instagram story snaps, saying “Still deciding if I’m a proud girlfriend over this. Nevertheless .... this is an EPIC #NeverNotDancing moment I am proud to witness by Mr. James and Robert James I LOVE YOU BOTH."
We love Gronk's enthusiasm. And apparently, so does Twitter.
Barstool Sports posted a hilarious video of him dancing alongside the professional cheerleaders with the caption “Gronk was made to be a Laker Girl.”
Another Twitter user tagged Tom Brady and said, "Fix this."
Gronk’s appearance at the Staples Center came shortly after he announced he will host a Super Bowl party in Miami.
He said, “I may not be playing the game this year, but I will still be going to Miami and I'm going to be debuting my very own music festival and its Gronk Beach. I mean, you can't ask for any other situation that better than that.”
The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 112 to 107 last night.
