David Beckham Recruited A New Player To His MLS Team And It Seems Promising
After sealing the deal on a new Stadium, Beckham's MLS team has its first star player
Miami, meet Matias Pellegrini. The 19-year-old Argentine recently passed his physical exam with Inter Miami CF and has been given the green light to join the club ahead of its inaugural season in 2020.
Pellegrini's current team, Estudiantes de la Plata of Argentina have confirmed that the winger has returned to Argentina following his successful physical in Miami and will join the MLS expansion club ahead of next season.
Get excited folks because Pellegrini has a great Pedigree. While training with the U-20 Argentinian national team, the 19-year-old snapped a picture with a fan.
It was recently made official that Inter Miami was able to seal the deal on a new stadium with the city of Fort Lauderdale in the old Lockhart venue.
The future venue for Inter Miami seems to have been the biggest thorn on David Beckham's side. And now that the stadium has been taken care of, all David Beckham and Jorge Mas need to focus on is filling it with players and fans.
If Pellegrini is any indication of what is to come, Miami fans should be feeling optimistic. While the young gun does not necessarily have a long track record, he shows plenty of potential. Pellegrini has loads of technical ability and ball control.
The 19-year-old's instagram is quite professional for now. But we wouldn't be surprised if a poolside topless pic gets posted after a few weeks in the sunshine state.
According to a recent interview, Paul McDonough had with the Miami Herald, expect more signings in the near future.
Inter Miami's sporting director hopes to have four to eight players signed by September. Multiple reports surfaced in June regarding Inter Miami's agreement to sign another 19-year-old Argentine baller: Julian Carranza.
Carranza is a striker, currently playing for CA Banfield in Argentina. Both Pellegrini and Carranza have reportedly agreed to remain at their clubs until the end of the season (December) and report to Inter Miami's 2020 preseason training in January.
It seems like Beckham is playing directly to his audience with these signings. Sure, they may not be household names yet but these are two young, competitive Argentine players with potential to grow in MLS. No way Miami fans will not appreciate that.
As for those household names, stay tuned. Players the likes of Luis Suarez of FC Barcelona, James Rodriguez of Real Madrid and Radamel Falcao of Monaco have all been linked with Miami's newest sports franchise. Any of those top-shelf talents would obviously be more than welcome with open and tattoo-filled arms by David Beckham.
For now, Inter Miami fans ought to be delighted with young guns Matias Pellegrini and Julian Carranza.
