When there's a national crisis, the community comes together and usually bonds stronger than ever. Those who have the ability to donate money or resources to those in need step-up without being asked. This Atlanta Braves' player is donating $125,000 to The City of Atlanta to support locals who are in financial strain.

Freddie Freeman, the Atlanta Braves' first-baseman, is giving back to the community that has supported his career and journey for years.

ESPN's Jeff Passan was the first to announce the donation on Twitter. The first baseman received lots of love (currently 75 replies and 4.5K likes) on the thread that followed the announcement.

The Brave's caption reads, "To help our community during this trying time, Freddie Freeman has pledged $50,000 to @acfb, $50,000 to @givingkitchen and $25,000 to @salvationarmyus."

His wife, Chelsea Freeman, reposted the Braves' post onto her Instagram story with three red hearts to show support.

The Salvation Army in Atlanta focuses on helping the homeless, participates in youth enrichment and works with anti-trafficking in the growing city.

These are "three areas unique to Atlanta given rapid economic development and geography," according to the website.

The Giving Kitchen focuses on providing emergency assistance to those who work in foodservice through financial support and network of community resources, specifically to Atlanta.

Freeman is one of the first Major Leauge players to announce their supports for those affected by the Coronavirus.

He has been spotted in Atlanta in the past supporting the community and working with local organizations.

Last year, he hosted a community event to raise funds for the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center
