Spotify has announced an exciting exclusive gift to its members, but not everyone's able to get in on it. Spotify's Google Home Mini offer is being criticized by family plan members for limiting eligibility to premium members only.  Both new and existing Spotify premium plan members - who pay for an individual, $10 monthly membership - can take advantage of the promotion until May 9th, 2019.

"For a limited time, Spotify Premium includes a Google Home Mini. New and existing account holders paying $9.99 CAD/month are eligible to redeem a Google Home Mini from the Google Store," says Spotify on their website.  Spotify also stated that the free gift must be redeemed by May 31st, 2019.

The company has received countless complaints from customers via social media, questioning Spotify's decision to exclude family plan members from the promotion.  The promotional offer's restrictions are particularly frustrating for customers on the family plan, since the family membership costs more than a premium plan at $14.99 a month.
