This 2.1-Mile Hike In Tennessee Leads You To A Huge Cascading Waterfall & Swimming Hole

Get in, the water's fine!
State Park In Tennessee Has A Breathtaking Waterfall & Swimming Hole

The temperatures might be dropping, but that doesn't mean the outdoor adventures have to stop. There are plenty of waterfalls and trails to last you a whole year, and we've found one that is enjoyable year round. This state park in Tennessee with a waterfall has a pool of water that you can spend hours admiring up close.

Cummins Falls State Park is home to, you guessed it, Cummins Falls, and is located in Cookeville, Tennessee. This waterfall is 75-feet tall and cascades into a huge pool you can wade around in at the bottom.

We're not going to lie, the hike can be difficult, but locals and visitors love it because it really gives you a sense of the Tennessee mountains' terrain. It also gives you a bit of a challenge before you get to the falls.

The Cummins Falls Trail is the trail you'll want to take if you really want to get outdoorsy and feel granola. Because of the terrain, take precautions when hiking after rainfall because it can get a little muddy and slippery.

The trail can get steep as you descend to the bottom of the falls, but you will literally be right where the action is when you get to the end of the trail. Many people suggest wearing shoes that you don't mind getting dirty because there are many water crossings along your journey.

Once you get to the falls, you won't believe your eyes. This waterfall is Tennessee's eighth largest waterfall in volume, and there are a lot of waterfalls in the state. The swimming hole is in the top 10 in the entire country, so you know you're in for a treat.

Since this is a natural park, always expect the unexpected. Water levels can rise and the current can pick up at any time, so always be alert when you are swimming or wading in the water.

This loop trail is more difficult than some may expect, but the feeling of conquering it and being able to see the insane waterfall will be all worth it.
