The University Of New Brunswick Revealed Its Sudden Evacuation Was Due To A Bomb Threat

The university evacuated all of its campuses as a result of the threat.

Students, staff and faculty at the University of New Brunswick (UNB) have been given the all-clear after a bomb threat shut down multiple campuses.

On Friday, September 10, the university evacuated its Fredericton, Saint John, and Moncton campuses but did not offer a reason for the police investigation.

After a week of anticipation, Hurricane Larry hit Newfoundland, and the storm certainly packed a punch when it arrived.

According to The Weather Network, Hurricane Larry made landfall on Newfoundland's Avalon Peninsula as a category-one storm early on Saturday, September 11. It brought wind gusts of 140 to over 160 km/h to the region, which caused power outages, toppled trees and a lot of damage.

Hurricane Larry Is Expected To Hit These Areas Hard & People Should 'Be Prepared'

Wind gusts with the storm could lead to uprooted trees, power outages and structural damage.

As Hurricane Larry heads towards Canada, an Environment Canada official has revealed what areas are expected to be hit hard and how people in the path of the storm can prepare for it.

During a briefing on the storm, Bob Robichaud, a warning preparedness meteorologist with Environment Canada, said it's expected that the storm will track over Newfoundland's Avalon Peninsula on Friday, September 10 and overnight into Saturday, September 11.
